A WORLD-WIDE JOINT VENTURE WITH SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT

Sony Music Entertainment has entered into a worldwide talent development partnership with global superstar producer/DJ Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll – a.k.a. Kygo – and music manager Myles Shear. Under the strategic agreement, Sony Music, Kygo and Shear launched Palm Tree Records, a new label imprint focused on identifying and cultivating emerging artistry in dance and electronic music. The new partnership builds upon Sony Music’s successful existing relationship with Kygo and his manager Shear. Over his career, Kygo has amassed over 8.5 billion streams and over 47 million track equivalents worldwide. The formation of Palm Tree Records with Sony Music is part of a broader strategy by Kygo and Shear to develop a full-service system for breaking new artists, which also includes a newly launched artist management company that the two have created in partnership together.

"I’VE ALWAYS BEEN VERY FOND OF WORKING WITH TALENTED, UNDISCOVERED ARTISTS IN MY OWN RELEASES. IT’S BEEN AN AMAZING PROCESS TO WATCH THESE ARTISTS GROW, AND NOW I’M ABLE TO HELP PROJECTS I LOVE BY OFFERING A LABEL AND MANAGEMENT SERVICE WITH AN INCREDIBLE TEAM."
